Stellenbeschreibung
Backend Developer (PHP) — FinTech & Payment Systems
Based in Germany
Focus: PHP · Java · High-Resilience Platforms · AI-Enhanced Engineering
The role:
We’re on the lookout for an inquisitive, sharp-minded Backend Developer to join our team and help shape the robust, mission-critical infrastructure that powers FinTech and payment operations.
This isn’t about checking off buzzwords on a resume. We need someone who can dissect complexity, reason through challenges, and engineer dependable solutions, because in our world, speed, stability, and precision are everything.
What You’ll Be Working With
You’ll develop and maintain the transaction-processing systems that form the backbone of financial services — where reliability is never optional. Our engineering culture is built on teamwork, modern practices, and continuous improvement:
- Agile workflows and iterative development
- Collaborative code reviews and open technical discussion
- Rigorous, automated testing strategies
- Large-scale backend architectures and transaction engines
- Uncompromising standards for clean, maintainable code
- Daily integration of Claude and other AI development tools
AI is deeply embedded in our process — and it’s here to stay. That means we need developers who don’t just accept AI-generated code at face value: you’ll understand, question, debug, and elevate what it produces.
Who We Hope to Find
While PHP is our primary language, we’re equally interested in strong backend engineers coming from Java or other solid technical backgrounds. We care far more about how you think than exactly what you’ve listed.
Your background could be:
- Formal software engineering or computer science training
- Mathematics, physics, or another analytical field
- Building production systems in PHP, Java, or Python
- AI, machine learning, or research and development
- Agency work, consultancy, or freelance projects
- Self-directed learning or an unconventional career journey
Our team has grown from all kinds of professional paths — the common thread is sharp analysis, genuine curiosity, and real enthusiasm for FinTech and payment technology.
What Matters Most to Us
- Clear, logical problem-solving and analytical depth
- A rock-solid grasp of software engineering principles
- Confidence working within — and improving — large, intricate systems
- Keen interest in building fast, always-available applications
- Ability to use AI development tools responsibly and critically
- Respect for quality: testing, reviews, and code that stands the test of time
- Proactive approach to learning and growing your skills
- Excitement about financial technology, banking, or payment infrastructure
Direct experience in banking or payments is a bonus — but your mindset and drive count for more.
