Our Business Intelligence (BI) & Analytics team is building a state-of-the-art platform based on Microsoft Fabric, enabling the company to unlock insights and deliver high-quality analytics. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain a robust data architecture using Microsoft Fabric. As a data engineer you play a role in the research and assessment of the latest possible technologies and analytics features, discuss them with and learn from your team members on several topics.

You are part of our internal business intelligence team, based in the Netherlands. We have daily stand-ups, using the agile/scrum methodology and work as a team in a hybrid mode: a few days in the office, other days from home while having regular team meetings and some (online) social events as well.

Your responsibilities will include building, testing, and optimizing data pipelines, integrating data sources, and ensuring data availability and quality across various systems. As we believe it is very important to stay ahead of the latest technology, knowledge sharing is very important to us.

We love technology and we love to make a difference for our stakeholders in various business domains within ORTEC. Furthermore:You have at least 4 years’ experience with data integration, ETL processes, and database management in medium and/or large sized organizations.

Good understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and data governance best practices.Security, compliance, performance and scalability is the base your work fromYou have experience on the Microsoft Azure platform or Microsoft Power BI and have worked with one or more tools like Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse and Azure ML.You have strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL).You have programming skills and experience with languages like DAX, Python and Scala or open to learn themYou’ve worked with CI/CD (like Azure DevOps) and versioning control systemsYou are currently living in the Netherlands and able to fluently communicate in English (verbally and in writing).

It’s a big plus when you have at least basic proficiency in Dutch.You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
