For our client, an internationally operating and renowned medical technology company located near Jena, we are immediately seeking a Software Engineer, Data Science & Imaging (m/f/d).
Responsibilities
• Platform Migration: Key support in the migration of an existing development platform from Python 2 to a modern system running Python 3.
• IVD Software Development: Holistic design of software solutions for in-vitro diagnostics (IVD medical devices) – from requirements analysis and test method determination to the design of software architectures.
• Algorithms & Image Processing: As a secondary core task, you will develop and implement mathematical and bioinformatic algorithms for signal evaluation and image processing of measurement data.
• Data Analysis & Testing: Experimental design and evaluation of test series using statistical methods and modern data mining techniques.
• Risk Management: Conducting risk analyses in the software environment with an uncompromising focus on the highest level of patient safety.
• Teamwork: Integration into an interdisciplinary, 10-person development team (7 software and 3 hardware experts) as well as international collaboration at the professional level.
Alternatively, you bring sound knowledge of regulatory standards from comparable industries (aviation, automotive, rail).
• Tech stack: Very good programming skills in Python, C++ and R, as well as sound knowledge of embedded software.
• System landscape: Practical experience in operating system configuration and hardware understanding, especially in dealing with Linux (Buildroot) and Windows XP.
• Languages: Good German and English skills, both written and spoken, for smooth communication within the team.
Requirements
• Qualifications: Successfully completed studies (Master's or Diploma), ideally with a mathematical background (not a mandatory requirement, but a clear plus).
• Professional experience: At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the development of software for highly regulated products or devices.
• Industry knowledge: Experience in medical technology is an advantage.
