Your responsibilities will include the design and implementation of future-proof software architectures and solutions for distributed, long-life software systems, focusing on Ethernet-based communication systems and time-sensitive networking.

You will analyze and optimize existing software and system landscapes to identify potential improvements and develop modern architectural concepts for network nodes based on Linux and real-time operating systems. You will also develop system concepts for the precise implementation of 802.x standards on ARM, RISC-V, and x86 architectures, including the associated runtime environments. Design of reusable platforms, programming interfaces, and software components as a fundamental basis for sustainable, scalable system solutions. Active participation in innovative research and development projects through the contribution of own ideas and close collaboration with project partners.

• Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Studium oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation im Bereich Informatik, Elektrotechnik, Informationssystemtechnik oder in einer verwandten Fachrichtung.
• Praktische Erfahrung im Bereich Embedded Systems sowie fundierte Anwenderkenntnisse in der professionellen Softwareentwicklung mit Python sowie C und C++.
• Fundiertes Fachwissen in Ethernet-basierter Datenkommunikation, Echtzeitsystemen sowie in der Echtzeitdatenkommunikation.
• Tiefgehendes Verständnis für die Entwicklung ressourcenbeschränkter Software auf Embedded-Systemen unter Berücksichtigung strikter Echtzeitanforderungen.
• Routinierte Handhabung und Begeisterung für Linux, Echtzeitbetriebssysteme sowie ARM-, RISC-V- oder x86-basierte Hardware-Architekturen.
