Lead Software Engineer

A growing healthcare technology business is looking for a technical lead to join the team. This role focuses on guiding a cross-functional group of engineers and quality assurance specialists while overseeing the technical roadmap for established software solutions. The successful candidate will play a key part in modernising existing codebases and integrating advanced automated workflows into the development lifecycle.

What you'll be doing

• Leading and mentoring a cross-functional team of engineers and specialists to foster a culture of ownership and high performance.
• Managing the technical roadmap for core business applications in collaboration with product management.
• Driving the architectural modernisation of large-scale codebases by introducing modular boundaries and clean interfaces.
• Overseeing code quality, test coverage, and delivery practices to ensure stable and scalable software components.
• Implementing advanced engineering practices and automated workflows to improve how the team develops and maintains software.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in a technical leadership or people management role within a software engineering environment.
• Strong technical background in systems programming, desktop application development, and database management.
• Experience modernising legacy architectures and decoupling complex functionalities into maintainable components.
• Familiarity with industry standards for data exchange and integration within highly regulated sectors.
• Fluency in German and English, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
