Title and Summary Lead Software Engineer F/T Overview Own complex problems having dependency across services and facilitate cross-functional team interactions to drive resolution.

Role • Write code to build and enhance applications/services and promote code-reviews, code scanning, and other standard development practices to deliver high-quality artifacts to production. • Define, design, and develop procedures and solutions at a service level to meet the business requirements/enhancements. • Drive prioritization decisions and trade-offs in working with product partners. • Identify opportunities and build roadmaps to enhance primary service/function. • Automate and simplify all aspects of software delivery and development actively evangelizing the need to automate and simplify where needed. • Drive seamless integration across all connected services to meet end-user expectations. • Drive blameless postmortems culture to identify root causes of incidents and implement learnings. • Introduce new technologies and architecture by following enterprise guidelines. • Advocate for engineering principles outside of current organization/platform. • Provide development and architecture guidance to team members. • Build relationships and effective partnerships across organizations. • Write and evaluate recommendations for job promotions based on an unbiased view of one’s accomplishments. • Conduct technical interviews for hiring engineering staff and raising the performance bar. • Lead by example with hands‑on approaches to demonstrate engineering excellence. • Encourage staff to share and seek knowledge within their Guild/Program to drive reuse of patterns/libraries/practices and enhance productivity.

About You • Position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or related and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in job offered or as a Programmer Analyst, System Test Engineer, Quality Assurance Engineer, or related. • Qualifying experience must include at least four (4) years with each of the following: Enterprise Software solutions ;JavaScript;Node.js; Angular; TypeScript; OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT; NGRX, RxJS, Angular, or similar; Java/J2EE;Spring, Spring MVC and Spring Boot; ORM frameworks – Hibernate and JPA (Java Persistence API), JDBC; Design Patterns (service-to-worker, MVC, API gateway, dependency injection, lazy loading, all from the gang of four);System Architecture; Gitlab, Jenkins, AWS/Azure pipelines, or similar; Sonar, Checkmarx, Nexus, or similar; Relational Databases (MySQL);Containerized Applications (Docker and K8s). • Supervises one Senior Software Engineer and two Software Engineer II. • Option to work from home-based office exists.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.

The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges Salt Lake City, Utah: $140,000 - $231,000 USD
