We are looking for Network Engineer to support EUMETSATs multi-mission environments, adapting to growing IT demands while mitigating the risks of legacy system overhead.Background:The I2D Division where our team is operating, is at the heart of enabling seamless Flight Operations and satellite data processing.

We are a dynamic team responsible for designing, maintaining, and securing the technological backbone that drives our mission forward.You shall support:Routine system operations service;Hardware Maintenance serviceEnd-user requests;Installation and configuration of computer and storage solutions;Interface to hardware repair and COTS support maintenance providers.Monitoring and alertingSkills and experiencesUniversity degree (or equivalent) in a relevant disciplineFluency in English1-3 years of professional experience in this role, or an equivalent combination of education and applied internships.Basic understanding of networking concepts (OSI model, VLANs, IP addressing,routing, Wireless technologies, DNS/DHCP, ACLs etc.).

To include additions/removal of new devices, generating reports upon request and NMS tuning.Ability to interpret alerts and log entries related to interface status, link health, and device availability.Understanding of VPN technologies and remote access troubleshooting.Structured documentation skills and experience with ticketing or change management systems.General Work SkillsProblem solvingGood analytical skillsHigh degree of interpersonal awarenessExperience in working as part of a multicultural teamAbility to perform regular, e.g. weekly, context switchWorking Location This is a full-time position to be in located on-site, at EUMETSAT’s premises in Darmstadt, Germany with an expected start date as soon as possible.

IP allocation and DNS entries via the DNS/IPAM system.Familiarity with common network device interfaces (CLI on Cisco, web interfaces; SNMP-based tools).Basic understanding of the principles of ACI is desired, but not essential as in-house training on the dashboard can be provided.Experience using network monitoring platforms and log management tools.
