Staff Software Engineer (Front-end)

Role overview

Step into a senior individual contributor role at a connectivity platform that lets tech companies embed global telecom services into their products, bridging traditional carrier systems with modern software. You will shape technical direction across cross-team boundaries while continuing to ship production code, with the engineering organization actively scaling. The work spans distributed systems, multi-carrier integrations, operational excellence, and pushing forward where AI changes platform and engineering practice.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve cross-cutting architectures spanning event-driven systems, multi-carrier integrations, and multi-tenant platform patterns

• Establish governance and review practices that keep these architectures coherent as the organization grows

• Raise the bar on operational excellence across observability, SLOs, graceful degradation, incident response, and on-call culture

• Identify and drive forward the places where AI changes platform and engineering practices

• Mentor senior engineers and help shape the senior IC growth path

• Ship production code and partner with engineering leadership on technical strategy

Requirements

• Track record developing, running, and maintaining distributed systems and event-driven architectures at scale

• Strong operational instincts, treating observability, failure modes, alerting, and graceful degradation as first-class concerns

• Experience navigating and rationalizing polyglot environments

• Hands‑on experience with agentic AI development beyond code completion, with opinions on when AI is the right tool

• Ability to drive technical outcomes across teams without direct authority, persuading through credibility and evidence

• History of mentoring engineers, with specific examples of team improvements you enabled

Nice to have

• Background in telecom, payments, or multi-market API platforms

• Familiarity with React, TypeScript, Next.js, Ruby, or Go

• Experience at companies scaling from roughly 50 to 200 engineers

• Domain‑driven design or platform and product boundary work
