The Visual Experiences (VX) team builds the shared visual foundation for the entire product. We build the shared product foundation where people and AI co-create dashboards, explore data, and make decisions. Our team owns the Emotion Design System, our custom chart libraries, and the underlying dashboarding platform. The Role:As an engineer on the Visual Experiences team, you will collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to build scalable, high-performance visual assets used platform-wide. You will take ownership of reusable components, drive design system consistency through Emotion, optimize high-load UI rendering, and build features for both human users and AI agent integrations. You will work with TypeScript, Angular, D3.js, Webpack, GitHub, Jira, and Datadog.

The work you’ll do:Design and work with scalable and reactive frontend architectures for interactive data visualizations. Design and develop effective algorithms to solve complex visualization problems that improve the user experience (eg, dynamic axis labels, histogram bucketing, fast interactions, dynamic graph layouts).

Find ways to optimize rendering performance in the browser to maintain a great user experience, even with large amounts of dataWork with different experts to develop novel visualization techniques from prototype to productionAdvocate for visualization best practices and data literacy by exchanging knowledge with team members, writing blog posts, and contributing to customer documentation and training materialsContribute ideas to the product roadmap for process and data visualizations by collaborating with Product Managers, UX Designers, and stakeholders from other teamsEssential QualificationsUniversity degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. Strong proficiency in web frontend technologies, including TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and Angular. Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) in your daily coding to work faster and smarter.

Interest or experience in building schemas, APIs, and component systems that AI agents can interact with. Track record of optimizing high-load, complex interfaces and writing solid unit/integration tests.A deep understanding of UX best practices and the ability to build and maintain user interfaces that adhere to established design systems and standards. Demonstrated ability to develop high-performance, high-load, and complex user interfaces. Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders.An analytical mindset with a deep understanding of complex algorithms, profiling, and optimization. Experience in writing and setting up unit/integration tests. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Preferred QualificationsA genuine interest in or knowledge of data visualization theory and best practices.

Experience with data visualization technologies such as d3.js, SVG, or charting libraries like Vega-Lite, Observable Plot, or Highcharts. Several years of experience developing Angular applications in a production environment.
