SAP FI Consultant – S/4HANA Transformation Programme

Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP FI Consultant to join a major SAP S/4HANA transformation programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering and supporting the Finance workstream, helping drive the transition to SAP S/4HANA and ensuring finance processes are aligned with the new platform.

This is an initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extensions. The role will be predominantly remote, with occasional travel required to Frankfurt, Germany.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, configuration and implementation of SAP Finance (FI) solutions within an S/4HANA programme.
• Work across core SAP FI modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR) and Asset Accounting (AA).
• Gather and analyse business requirements, translating them into functional specifications and SAP solutions.
• Configure SAP FI functionality in line with business and programme requirements.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and other SAP functional consultants.
• Support integration between SAP FI and other SAP modules, particularly CO, MM and SD.
• Participate in workshops, solution design sessions and process improvement activities.
• Support functional testing, integration testing, UAT and defect resolution.
• Assist with data migration, reconciliation and validation activities.
• Provide support throughout deployment, cutover and post-go-live activities.
• Ensure finance processes are optimised and aligned with S/4HANA best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an SAP FI Consultant within SAP implementation or transformation programmes.
• Strong hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance.
• Excellent functional knowledge of SAP FI, including GL, AP, AR and Asset Accounting.
• Experience with SAP configuration and functional solution design.
• Strong understanding of finance and accounting business processes.
• Experience working on full lifecycle SAP implementations or transformation projects.
• Knowledge of integration points between SAP FI and other SAP modules.
• Experience supporting testing, data migration and deployment activities.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently within a remote project environment.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working on large-scale, international SAP S/4HANA programmes.
• Knowledge of Central Finance, Group Reporting or Advanced Financial Closing.
• Experience with SAP Fiori and S/4HANA Finance innovations.
• Previous experience working in a multi-country or European finance environment.
• German language skills would be advantageous.
